Featured Event: FREE Safe Haven Indoor Park Play at Oak Park Community Church

Oak Park Church of God, located on Lancaster Drive in North Salem, offers a free play session every Tuesday from 9:30-11:30. Referred to as ‘Safe Haven Indoor Park’ this community event (intended for children ages 0-5) is held in the large gymnasium attached to the church.

We met up with a friend to try it out last week!

There was a short registration form to fill out as well as a sign in sheet. The gym was spacious and clean. Small climbing structures, bikes, slides and other toys were set out strategically.  There were tables and chairs set out for the parents to sit and visit. Coffee and other refreshments were provided!

The kids had a great time running around and playing with new friends. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get some good social interaction in a safe and relaxed environment!

There was even a complimentary snack time. The kids all sat down with one another and enjoyed some goldfish crackers, pretzels and a sippy cup of water!

When it was time to wrap it all up everyone helped put away toys and straighten up the gym.

Restrooms are available for use inside of the building. There’s a beautiful nursery with a changing table for the little ones (and even a few extra diapers and wipes in case you forgot your own!)

Thank you Oak Park Church for providing such a wonderful service for the community!

This is a FREE program! If you wish to contribute the church does accept donations (cash, packaged snacks, cleaning supplies, baby wipes, etc.)

This program runs concurrent to the Salem/Keizer School calendar and it is suggested to call the church office at (503) 364-3626 to ensure that they are open.
