Fairmount Park in South Salem is the perfect place to let your kids run and play in a peaceful and enjoyable environment. Located at the end of Rural St, in one of Salem’s most beautiful and classic neighborhoods, it is very quiet and secluded here. There are big leafy trees all around, providing shade and making it an ideal place for any type of family outing!
The playground equipment is bright, colorful and in excellent condition. There are plenty of things to balance and climb on, slide down and spin around on. There are swings- including baby swings, a standing teeter-totter and a smaller play toy for younger kids (which is always nice!)
There are plenty of picnic tables and benches to relax on.
The park itself is a little over 17 acres. Part of this includes a large underground water reservoir (in case you’re curious about the large empty concrete slab!)
Besides the playground you’ll find a grassy field with a bocci ball set up, Mutt-Mitt dispenser, walking trails, bathrooms on site, a drinking fountain, a covered picnic area and best of all….a splash pad!
It’s the perfect summer-time park!
*Bathrooms and splash pad are open seasonally.
Splash pad is scheduled to open on June 11th, 2016.
It will be in operation from noon to 8 pm.
Location:
650 Rural Ave S, Salem OR
